Hamster Diets

A balanced diet for your hamster will keep it healthy and happy throughout its life. It is recommended that you should keep the food that your hamster originally had in its previous pet store. Changing your hamster’s diet suddenly may cause it to become ill. If you do want to change its food then do it over a period of time or a few weeks as to not upset their stomach, adding a little of the different food everyday. Before refilling your hamster’s bowl in the morning/evening (depends on when you change their food) make sure all your hamster’s food is definitely gone because they store it in their cheeks. Overfeeding your hamster can also cause it to become ill. It is good to give your hamster a few treats from time to time, maybe twice a week.
